The 4th of July

I love the 4th of July. Actually I love the whole weekend. Usually the Hootenanny is held every year around this time. This year it's July 2nd at Oak Canyon Ranch. Then there is the 4th of July. I love bbq, sun, fireworks. I love the fireworks because everyone around the country is gathering together and forgeting about work, arguements, war(but we will be thinking of our troops), and all the other problems.
My earliest childhood memories when I was about 8 and we went back east to visit family. I was at my Uncle Michael and Aunt Ann's house in Johnstown, Pennsylvania. My Uncle Mike was alive at the time and I think it was the last time I saw him before he got sick and passed away. We walked down to the local cemetary to watch the fireworks. I remember sitting on a tombstone watching fireworks and fireflies. Good Times!

There is something about the summer, especially, in Southern California. It get's warm but not humid. It starts around the end of June to the beginning of August. I was born in the summer but towards the end when it starts to get HOT and muggy. Forget about indian summers. They are the worse. Heat till Octobor.
I think I'm the happiest in the summer. I come out of hybernation.

Watermelon, swimming pools, the beach, ice cream, and cherries.
